shore leave
Shore leave is your right as a seafarer in Australia.
The Centre is located 10 minutes from most berths in Dampier.
Transport between vessel and centre is free of charge.
Please contact us as early as possible to make arrangements.
Transport to Karratha from centre is available.

Our centre includes a quiet chapel space for personal reflection and prayer – seafarers of all faiths are welcome.
Chaplain is available on site for prayer, Bible study and conversation.
Free Bibles are available in many languages.
ship visiting
Our chaplain visits vessels at berth to meet crew, share a conversation, and offer pastoral and spiritual support.
No appointment needed, crew can request a visit any time.
advocacy
Seafarers have rights.
If you are experiencing difficulties, we can connect you with agencies that support and uphold those rights in Australia.
All conversations are confidential.
recreational fishing licence
In Western Australia, a recreational fishing licence is required to fish from a powered vessel.
It is a federal offence to fish without one. No fishing is permitted at any berth.
We can process licence applications on your behalf:
COST: $40 USD per licence
VALIDITY: 1 year from date of processing.
Licences are assigned to individuals. Not to vessel. · Total catch must remain within bag limits for licence.
masters and ship agents
We welcome advance contact from Masters and shipping agents.
Getting in touch early, prior to berthing allows us to arrange crew shore leave and chaplaincy visits ready for arrival.
